Still frustrated with Naughty Followers?

 WHAT IF I AM STILL GETTING NASTY AVATAR FOLLOWERS?

We have found that reporting SPAM and PORN to the Twitter Police is extremely helpful in managing some of the Naughty Followers out there(directions on how to report are below).  But there are some tenacious nasty followers that just don’t give up!  We at Krtter Kommunity had this problem and decided to put a ‘lock’ on our account.  Originally this was going to be a temporary approach, but we are now considering leaving our lock on permanently.   (you can see the little lock by our Avatar @KritterKondo)  We have had many Kwitters inquiring on the lock and how it is working for us……Mommy told me to post some information for the gang.

What does blocking my updates / the lock do?  The lock box protects you.  Your updates will be protected; only those you approve will receive your updates. You will not appear on the public timeline. Updates posted previously may still be publicly visible in some places.

How does this reduce Naughty Avatar?  You will receive an alert each time somebody wants to follow you.  You can approve or decline their request.  If it looks naughty, just hit decline.  They will not be able to follow you.

How will I receive the request to follow?  If you have your email connected to receive Twitter requests, you will receive an email with a link.  Simply click on the link and it will take you directly the Tweep’s request.  You will see the Tweep’s avatar and bio.  You will also see request updates on your Twitter home page (usually it is right under your Favorites).

Will I still be able to play #FollowFriday and #WoofWednesday?  Absolutely!  In fact, that is the best way to get followers, through your FRIENDS referring you.  You will still receive a request that you will need to approve, but this will eliminate the ‘ambulance chasers’ that are trying to sneak into your following without you noticing. 

Okay, I want to try it.  What should I do?  Go to your Settings section (top of your Twitter screen) click on Settings.  Scroll down to the bottom and click the box that says “Protect my updates”.  Wala, your are now “protected”.

Can I just try it temporarily?  Yep, if you decide to unprotect yourself in the future, re-click on the update box.

 How to Report PORN and SPAM on Twitter

Are you sick and tired of going into your followers section just to be blinded by nakedness all around you?  Okay, maybe I am exaggerating a tad, but the pictures, being a bit dramatic if you will, but some of the photos we at http://kritterkommunity.com have stumbled across are so startling that they could make even Dirk Diggler blush.

What to do besides just block the Porn Star in training? Well, Twitter has prepared for these intrusive characters and has set up a specific place to report the Porn Star wantabees.  Whatever you do, DO NOT click on the avatar and continue to explore the unknown….remember, curiosity killed da cat!   By continuing to click around, you could get zapped with an awful virus if you are not properly protected (MOL no pun intended there :<)

What you should do is first jot down their user name and immediately block them.  Next go to your profile and click on the HELP tab at the top of your page.  Continue as follows:

Submit a Request

This will take you to a short form to fill out and the place to report the user name you jotted down.  It is a good idea to report PORN or SPAM because many times the person comes back immediately with no picture or a changed screen name in an attempt to get you to follow them again. By reporting the invader, you are not only helping yourself but also others who could be next on their hit list. 

SPAM can be reported the same way OR even easier…….follow @Spam on Twitter and next time you need to report a Spammer, simply send @Spam a DM with the information.
