MADI:  Hello @haute_or_not, and thanks for meeting me at the Kritter Koffeehouse.  I am very excited to be speaking with you today and greatly appreciate your time.  Before we get started, I just want to point out that just like everything associated with the Kritter Kommunity, Kritters That Twitter is specifically designed for Animals and Animal Lovers.  The Kritter Koffeehouse is open daily and serves beverages and snacks for both Animals and Hoomans.  That being said, I see you are a fun loving hooman!  Could I offer you a cup of tea or coffee?

MADI:  Great, lets go ahead and get started; we are eager to learn more about you!  First and most important, tell me about your business!?!  We hope to get the Kritter Kondo in your magazine, tell us what it’s all about……

@haute_or_not: Well let’s see  Haute or Not? It’s really not a magazine, it’s an on-line newsletter/blog  that features product and book reviews, celebrity gossip, as well as  our opinions on all things pet and pet related. All the products featured at Haute or Not? have been “rigorously”  tested by our regular anipal panel with a few special guest testers chiming in from time to time.  

Trust me Madi we are really looking forward to the opportunity to try out the Kritter Kondo it looks great, in Miami where we are it will be perfect for lounging around the balcony in the, spring, fall, and winter months, it’s to hot outside right now, and that’s not Haute …

MADI:  How long have you been using Twitter?  How do you like it?  What types of things do you tweet about?  

@haute_or_not: Wow Madi I’m not sure how long exactly we’ve been Tweeting probably since late February or early March, we love the way we can get our message to so may people so quickly, between Haute or Not? and our parent company PetMD.com we have about 8000 followers so between those great people and their ReTweets we can really spread the word, whatever the word happens to be that day. We generally Tweet the link to the day’s newletter several times a day as well as links to articles running on  PetMD and links to our sister blog The Daily Vet. We also really like to ReTweet great links or stories other folks are Tweeting about.

MADI:  How do you use Twitter for your business?

@haute_or_not: I guess, the business applications are what we already discussed, for us, it’s just about getting the word out and letting everyone know what we think today! 

MADI:  Tell us about any other Social Media you are currently using…

@haute_or_not: Actually Madi, we are not really aggressively using any Social Media other than Twitter, it functions well for us it gets our message out fast and the results and feed back are instant and who doesn’t love that kind of gratification.  

MADI:  How long have you been in business?  What are some of your goals for this year?  

@haute_or_not: Pet MD.com has been up and running for about a year, Haute or Not went live in Mid-May and has been going and growing ever since.

 In the next few months we are staring our week long Special Edition features, our first feature is actually starting next week July 27^th  with a week of really cool Hi-Tech gadgets and gizmos for pets or the people who love them. We are also getting ready to roll-out “ The Marketplace” a section in Haute or Not where vendors can actually feature their product with links back to their selling sites. I will expect to see the Kritter Kondo in there Madi !!! One more thing I would like to mention is “PetMD Gives” a new member of the PetMD family the details  are currently being refined, but it will be our way of giving back.

MADI: Great, lets go ahead and get started; we are eager to learn more about you! First and most important, tell me about your name! Its so cute, who came up with that name and why?

@babypatches: Dat is a good question. At da rescue group dey named me Patches. When momma & daddy founds me on da petfinder.com web site dey had just lost der precious cat named Patches. Daddy didn’t wants to change my name upon adopting me but momma wanted mine to be different so she added Baby to da front. She thought it appropriate cuz I is da baby of da family! And it just kinda of stuck. Many furriends has asked if it would not be Baby Patches anymore since I is a ladycat now but due to the facts of how my name cames about it will not change.

MADI: How long have you been using Twitter? How do you like it? What types of things do you tweet about?

@babypatches: I has been using Twitter since March of dis year so dat makes it 4 months now… dat is what momma says. I LUVS twitter! Der are so many pawsome anipals on twitter and we gets to talks about what we are doing, how we been, what toys we likes, what treats and foods we eat, and just basically sharings about ourselves. I tweets about my life as da Chief Kit for momma’s store SuppliesJust4Pets.com, what I has been up to, new fings I has learned, and about helpfuls information.

MADI: My Mommy loves your Mama’s store…. http://www.suppliesjust4pets.com/just-for-cats.html Tell me about the store, what do you sell and how do you use Twitter for your store?

@babypatches: My momma’s store SuppliesJust4Pets.com is an online store for all anipals to comes and finds stuff dey needs from toys to treats and beds to food, and etc. I likes to uses twitter to helps my furriends finds what dey is lookings for whether it be suggestions or locating a specific product. It is also helpful to announces anyfing impawtant likes when we has a contest, for example we has Baby Patches’ Surfin Safari Giveaway dis month!

MADI: How long have you had your store?
What are some of your favorite toys and items from your store?

@babypatches: Momma started her store last year so it hasn’t been dat long but we works hard to makes it a pawsome store. Some of my favorite toys from our store is da Turbo Track, Da Bird, Springs, Honeysuckle Toys, Freeze Dried TUNA Grandma Lucys Treats and our newest treats Power Patties Tripe Cat Treats.

MADI: Do you have a Blog and are you on Facebook?

@babypatches: Yes, I has a blog you can sees my posts at http://blog.suppliesjust4pets.com. Momma is on facebook for da store, if you wants to become friends just lets me knows. We supports charities whenever possible including da monthly #pawpawty ‘s on Twitter. Last month we donated 5% of our proceeds to my rescue group Cat In Need plus we donated duckies to da kittehs waitings for new furever homes. Dey were so happy to has a new toy duckie! Momma’s store SuppliesJust4Pets.com is committed to helpings anipals and looks forward to buildings relationships wif our customers. We are always willings to helps if you has a question, needs advice, suggestions or just simply lookings for something in particular. Momma and I likes to holds contests fairly regularly so be sure to checks out my blog or da store web site.
