MADI:  Hello @haute_or_not, and thanks for meeting me at the Kritter Koffeehouse.  I am very excited to be speaking with you today and greatly appreciate your time.  Before we get started, I just want to point out that just like everything associated with the Kritter Kommunity, Kritters That Twitter is specifically designed for Animals and Animal Lovers.  The Kritter Koffeehouse is open daily and serves beverages and snacks for both Animals and Hoomans.  That being said, I see you are a fun loving hooman!  Could I offer you a cup of tea or coffee?

 

@haute_or_not: Yes … I’d love some coffee, black no sugar, and a side of fun !!!

 

MADI:  Great, lets go ahead and get started; we are eager to learn more about you!  First and most important, tell me about your business!?!  We hope to get the Kritter Kondo in your magazine, tell us what it’s all about……

 

@haute_or_not: Well let’s see  Haute or Not? It’s really not a magazine, it’s an on-line newsletter/blog  that features product and book reviews, celebrity gossip, as well as  our opinions on all things pet and pet related. All the products featured at Haute or Not? have been “rigorously”  tested by our regular anipal panel with a few special guest testers chiming in from time to time.  

Trust me Madi we are really looking forward to the opportunity to try out the Kritter Kondo it looks great, in Miami where we are it will be perfect for lounging around the balcony in the, spring, fall, and winter months, it’s to hot outside right now, and that’s not Haute …

 

MADI:  How long have you been using Twitter?  How do you like it?  What types of things do you tweet about?  

 

@haute_or_not: Wow Madi I’m not sure how long exactly we’ve been Tweeting probably since late February or early March, we love the way we can get our message to so may people so quickly, between Haute or Not? and our parent company PetMD.com we have about 8000 followers so between those great people and their ReTweets we can really spread the word, whatever the word happens to be that day. We generally Tweet the link to the day’s newletter several times a day as well as links to articles running on  PetMD and links to our sister blog The Daily Vet. We also really like to ReTweet great links or stories other folks are Tweeting about.

 

MADI:  How do you use Twitter for your business?

 

@haute_or_not: I guess, the business applications are what we already discussed, for us, it’s just about getting the word out and letting everyone know what we think today! 

 

MADI:  Tell us about any other Social Media you are currently using…

 

@haute_or_not: Actually Madi, we are not really aggressively using any Social Media other than Twitter, it functions well for us it gets our message out fast and the results and feed back are instant and who doesn’t love that kind of gratification.  

 

MADI:  How long have you been in business?  What are some of your goals for this year?  

 

@haute_or_not: Pet MD.com has been up and running for about a year, Haute or Not went live in Mid-May and has been going and growing ever since.

 In the next few months we are staring our week long Special Edition features, our first feature is actually starting next week July 27^th  with a week of really cool Hi-Tech gadgets and gizmos for pets or the people who love them. We are also getting ready to roll-out “ The Marketplace” a section in Haute or Not where vendors can actually feature their product with links back to their selling sites. I will expect to see the Kritter Kondo in there Madi !!! One more thing I would like to mention is “PetMD Gives” a new member of the PetMD family the details  are currently being refined, but it will be our way of giving back.
