Yoga and Pilates Products that Work Great for Me

BE FIT 2012

Hey guys, you may have noticed I have blogged about Pilates a few times over the past several weeks.  I love Pilates; it is one of my most favorite ways to get some exercise.  I wish I could say I started it because I am one of those inspired, Zen people, but the truth is I have a herniated disc and was looking for a solution.   Although I like Yoga, I love Pilates.  After several months of taking Pilates, my back improved greatly.  The rest is history.

One of the things I try to look for in my Pilates mat is comfort.  Although I take Pilates in a studio where they have thick mats we can use. The idea that sweaty people have laid on them throughout the day grosses me out though.  So I bring my own mat to place on top of the mat provided.  It works great and also adds one more layer of cushion.  While looking for a new Pilates mat a few months ago, I stumbled across a brand I fell in love with called YogaRat.  LOVE LOVE LOVE these products.  Not only are the mats nice and comfortable, they are 100% made with TPE.  This means they are non toxic (even the printing) and recyclable.  As if comfort and good for the environment isn’t enough, these mats are 7’ long that is great because I am 5’ 8”.  My feet do not hang off the mat when I am doing the Roll Up.

Not only are the RatMats great, their accessories are also fabulous.   The Flip Flops are so incredibly sturdy and comfortable; I absolutely love them!

I also use the hand and face microfiber towels that are super soft and absorb sweat liquidity split.

After using the YogaRat Mat products, I was so excited to partner with this brand and start to offer them in Lisa’s Store.  As I continue to add products to this section, I wanted to get the word out with a product review and a giveaway.  Below are the details for this month’s giveaway.

I don’t do yoga but I have thought about it or Tai Chi as an adjunct to my gym workouts. I need the balance and more fluidity.

I would love to win this. I have felt a desire to start doing yoga, but I am not confident with my ability to do so. I would purchase a DVD or watch the yoga shows on Hulu and do this in the privacy of my own home. If I decided not to do so, I would give this to my childhood friend, Maria, who I knows does and enjoys yoga. Or ship it to one of my cousins in Greece who practices yoga as well!

This would be for my daughter in graduate school. She was going to the workout center, but the schedule is such now that it makes it difficult for her to get there and I hate to see her stop her routine. A healthy body and mind set makes a great student even better!

  12. Heather Fowler says:

I’ve been a big, round yogini on and off for years. Due to multiple health issues, it’s really the only form of exercise I can count on. I practice at home now with my *literally* ratty old mat — which is in that condition at least partly because my natural feline practitioners like to help. I adore this mat, and if we won, I bet Charlotte and Elsie would too!

  13. Stacy Busch says:

I have my own retail store…in fact, we just expanded! I have yet to have a day off and I certainly could use some pampering and relaxation. I’ve often thought about trying yoga and pilates. I would love to have even more energy to keep up with our ever-growing business!

  14. Cindi says:

    I have just signed up for a Pilate’s Class…
Many thanks for your generous giveaways!
