Hey guys, it has been one of those kinds of weeks. I just had to sit down and write a little about it because my head is still spinning. I won’t get into all the details in one post, but the gist is that Finn and Abigail tested every bit of patience I have this entire week. I feel like I was run over by a steam roller; actually two steam rollers.
Last night was one of the straws that almost broke this camel’s back. As many of you know, I love Jolly Ranchers candy and keep a stash in my desk drawer at all times. While working at my desk yesterday, I popped a JR in my mouth and tossed the wrapper onto my desk. I continued banging away on my computer, when out of nowhere Finnegan jumps on the desk and starts to EAT the entire wrapper. I sat here in disbelief for about six seconds which gave him time to get the entire wrapper in his mouth. He chewed and chewed, until I got my fingers in between his teeth. This is when I hear the big GULP. Down the hatch it went. Yep, the entire wrapper.
I hopped on Facebook and Twitter, posting next tweeting. As always, to my rescue came my good petworking friends posting, tweeting and emailing me back. Melanie (Ivan and Boo’s mommy), Theresa (Prudence’s Mommy) and Rumblepurr (our furry New Zealand friend who’s mommy shouted out hints and tips for Rumblepurr to comment) all gave me their experience and some great pointers on Facebook.
Keeping an eye on little Finn all night and this morning, I watched for any sickness or choking so I could get him to the hospital right away. I also put a call into my Vet this morning who chuckled when I gave him the details. The Vet agreed that waiting and watching was the way to go. They know about Finn and his menacing ways, so they were not too surprised. Alas, more drama ensued as the day went on with Abigail, then Finn again. I think they are conspiring!
Do your pets ever drive you crazy? Wait until I tell you what Abigail did earlier today……….
