SuperPet Run-About Hamtrac Lets Your Hamsters Get Competitive

Have you ever given your hamster time to roam around in a plastic ball just to find it hours later stuck behind the washing machine?  (This has happened to me multiple times – true story.)  With the SuperPet Run-About Hamtrac, you no longer have to worry about your pet leaving your sight!

The SuperPet Run-About Hamtrac is an oval-shaped track that has built in ridges so that your hamster doesn’t go flying off of the course, great safety precaution!
To use this cool Hamster racetrack, you will need to buy a SuperPet Run-About Ball, which doesn’t come with the Hamtrac.  Some cool ideas for things you can do with the Run-About Hamtrac are spouting from my brain, so I might as well share them.

You could create an exercise program for your hamster – monitor his daily intake of food, keep track of his BMI, and make him run an increasing number of laps on his Hamtrac each day.  You could also time how long it takes your hamster to run five laps, and then try to improve his time every day.  Or perhaps you could purchase another hamster and then have them race each other.  However you decide to use it, the SuperPet Run-About Hamtrac is an awesome gadget for your pet.

Summertime is fast approaching and that means vacation time for most of us. Vacations usually involve some type of travel, either just getting to our destination or perhaps a long road trip. As you carefully make preparations for your family, don’t forget your pet, who as we all know, is a very important member of your family. There are three general areas of care for your pet that you will want to consider.
Preparation: Before you leave on your trip, make sure your pet is ready to travel.
• If your pet only associates getting into the car with going to the vet, you may have a problem. Try driving your pet to a park where he can have some fun. Gradually lengthen the duration of these drives, and your pet will be ready to jump in the car when you are ready to go.
• Make sure Fido or Fifi is up to date on vaccinations. It’s a good idea to have a copy of vaccinations, especially rabies, in case you have to take your pet to a vet on the road. If you’re going to an area where there are lots of ticks and fleas, treat your pet with an anti tick/flea medication like Frontline. If there will be a lot of mosquitos, there are pet mosquito repellants available at your local pet store.
• Make sure your pet has proper identification with your traveling contact information.
• Feed your pet a light meal 3 to 4 hours before you leave.
On The Road: Safe travel involves some type of animal restraint.
• If your pet is used to crates, this may be the safest way to transport it. However, you must anchor the crate in the car so it doesn’t slide around. If you have to stop suddenly, or swerve, you don’t want the crate banging into the back of the seat or the side of the vehicle. Try to be conscious of the position of the sun and anchor the crate out of direct sunlight. It’s nice to have a favorite blanket or chew toy for your friend to chew on.
• A pet harness is another way of stabilizing your pet. If you don’t have a flat cargo area in your vehicle, it may be your only way. Again, the harness is always attached to the seat belt to prevent your pet from being tossed around in the event of sudden movements by your vehicle. There are many types of harnesses available in pet stores. A harness will allow your pet to stand up or lie down, and look out the window. However if your dog gets carsick, you may have a mess to clean up. There are some medications available from your vet to prevent carsickness.

• Another restraint is a wire or mesh pet barrier between the cargo space and the back seat. This is the least desirable, because in the event of an accident, you pet could be ejected from the car.
• Be sure to allow for plenty of potty stops for your pet. Plastic bags and a pooper scooper are necessary items. The time to give your pet water is when you are out of the car.
When You Get There: Provide your pet with the comforts of home.
• Make sure you have a short leash for walking your pet. If you are camping, campgrounds routinely require pets to be restrained at all times.
• Provide your pet’s regular food and bottled water. The local water may cause unpleasant things to happen in Fluffy’s intestinal tract.
• If you’re going to be in one place for awhile, it’s good for your pet to have some type of enclosure to stay in. One example is the Kritter Kondo which is a portable outdoor enclosure for cats and small dogs. It comes in different sizes and one model even has an canopy for shade.
• Never leave your pet alone in a car. Even with the windows down, the car can quickly overheat.
• If you are visiting places where pets are not allowed, you might want to consider a local kennel for boarding your pet for a day or two.
Traveling with your family pet can be a pleasure for everyone. Just a few simple precautions will ensure the safety and well being of your pet. Start planning now and have a great vacation.

Of course Madison helped inspect the box, the flowers and snoopervised my every move as the crackling noises and wonderful smell seized his attention.  I was so impressed with how well the flowers were packaged and delivered.   I had been traveling all week so the box actually sat and waited for my return home for over 24 hours.  After I opened them up and pulled the flowers out, I started looking through my cabinets for a vase.  I couldn’t find anything I liked so I started to clean up my mess and decided to cut the flowers while I contemplated their new home.  Low and behold, when I picked up the box I realized there was more inside.  Wala!  The perfect vase set at the bottom waiting to be found.  I absolutely love the color pink, so I was thrilled it was the color of the flowers (PINK PINK PINK!)

Thanks for the introduction to Bad Cat Jewelry. I’m especially intrigued with the felted bead bracelets because it is new to me and after going to a few craft festivals this fall I’m fascinated with all the felting process. As for colors? Who can pick? I like the red, aqua and black.I often have sizing problems when I get bracelets as my wrist is a larger with an old fracture. Hard to find 8 – 8 1/2. Guess I’ll consult for help with sizing

Okay, my cats Abigail and Madison were jealous with all the cool pet stores that were giving away gift certificates…. now I am jealous that one of the mommy’s will be a lucky winner to this very pawsitively pawesome jewelry store. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this store. I met the owner and desinger; mastermind behind the lovely pieces, Mary Elizabeth, on Twitter (thank god for Social Media!) where we became fast friends.  Since then, we are connected on Facebook through our businesses and our personal Facebook pages.  I also frequent the Bad Cat Blog which is a glimpse into Mary Elizabeth’s home life and a reflection of her creativity.

Kritter Kommunity has been embraced by cat and dog lovers around the world.  What were your initial thoughts when you began receiving requests and inquiry from neighbors and friends?  At what point did you realize that you had a potential business on your hands?

Hi Mike, and thank you for the opportunity to share my story with you today.

I realized I had a pet product many cat owners would like pretty early on.  My courtyard acts as a showcase for people walking around my neighborhood; so putting the cats in their Kondos outside was much like displaying adorable kittens in a pet store window.  People stop, stare, ask questions, ooh and ahhh.  After answering for the 5th or 6th time, “where did you get those, my cats would love one”?, I started to make a few calls.  After realizing there is a market for these Kitty Kondos, small dog owners started asking me where they could get one….. hence the name Kritter Kondo instead of Kitty Kondo.
